Reservation not recorded, tried to bill me twice
I arrived at approximately 10.30pm. The receptionist was unable to access reservation records and consulted with her manager. This took a number of calls while I waited, after a long journey, to finally rest. In total, approximately 15 minutes was wasted simply because the receptionist could not locate my reservation and the manager - who should have been guiding her through this - seemed unable to do so. When I checked out the following morning, the same problem arose again except worse: a different receptionist then sought to extort the full price of the room from me again, even though I had already paid directly at the time of making the reservation. Despite the problems of the previous night, it was clear that the hotel had conducted no additional efforts to locate my reservation and update their records and so the whole nonsense resumed again the following morning. I had arranged a taxi and until I firmly explained that I had paid once and would not do so again, the drama would have continued.
The room was small, not even large enough for me to open my luggage. The bed linen had marks on it which is never reassuring, as did the towel.
A very unsatisfactory experience which wasted far too much of my time due to the hotel’s poor administrative processes.
