Everything about our stay was colored by the blizzard that occurred on Wednesday. My husband was to report for surgery at 5am Wednesday morning, and while at Bryan East, the power at the hotel went out. Our stay Tuesday night was wonderful. I was in touch with the motel and due to the nature of my husbands surgery, he was to be on bed rest for a number of hours once we returned to the motel, as well as, we were on the 4th floor, and he could not climb stairs after his surgery, with no elevator access. They were wonderful in communicating with me, regarding my concerns and graciously allowed us to move to a 1st floor room, which was exactly what was needed. However, due to no electricity, through no fault of their own, it was a rather chilly night. Extra blankets helped, but with no electricity there was no hot water for showers the next morning, nor complementary breakfast and coffee. We checked with conditions of I 80 and were able to leave Thursday early afternoon to return to Grand Island.
I appreciated staffs courteous help, and knowing they were struggling also, knew they were doing all they could to accommodate all guests.
Otherwise, the proximity to Bryan was perfect and a short drive in horrible conditions. Thank you so much for all you all did to make our stay as comfortable as possible under unusual conditions. Cindy Kelley
