Honest realistic review.
2 adults, 1 child, 1 large dog
Loved the fact that the hotel was dog friendly. Other dogs were their too and it was fine, you didn't hear them.
The rooms were quite spacious, en suite was small and very little power in the shower. The room did what we needed it to. It was clean and looked recently decorated.
Our room was above the bar (room 4) and was on the main road. We didn't really hear any noise and the bar didn't bother us, they were even kind enough to lend us some wine glasses. The tv had basic freeview and a hairdryer was also in the room.
The parking. Pretty poor and the guy on reception was just plain awkward with telling people where to park. As we pulled up, he tried to open our door to ask us to park in a different space. Then once parked up he asked us to move again. The spaces are extremely tight and despite us saying we had a child to get out of a car seat he still insisted we get closer to another car. Also very obvious they prefer certain cars in certain spaces. And after speaking to other guests we found that they were treated too.
He would repeatedly speak over us and not listen, even telling me that the caledonian has less spaces (who cares, i wasn't staying there!). This happened each time we came to park up, even asking us to move just one or two inches closer to a van (saying that he knows that the contractors that stay in there that have transit vans might clip the parked cars).
Overall, good hotel, parking is poor.
