The hotel is very well located, close to all kinds of transportation and walking distance to Alexanderplatz, many many options of restaurants, street stores, markets, and galleries. The hotel has a rooftop with a bar that is pleasant.
We stayed in a room at the "treppenhaus" that was very comfortable and clean, with a big bathroom, living room+kitchen and a nice bedroom. It was a pleasant stay in general and I would recommend the hotel. However, the sound proof is not very good and we woke up with a kid running and crying upstairs for two nights. Also, there was a night club with electronic music that could be heard every night until late hours. The room was not accessible with elevators and the steps are narrow to climb, therefore some people could have problems to access the room. We had a car that was parked in the garage, but when we did the check in the price was not informed. 15 euros per night were charged when we checked out. It is a reasonable price, but I would suggest that attendants should inform the prices to guests in order to avoid misunderstandings. The main problem we had was the extra charge for the upgraded room. Amano sent me a link a few weeks before our stay offering an upgrade for 10 euros per night, which we accepted. However, they charged us 30 euros per night when we checked out. Luckily, we did not use the express checkout, so we complained while we were still there. The problem was addressed and they changed the bill.
