It is situated next to the market, with cheese stall, fruit & veg & fish restaurants & a very friendly coffee shop next door. On arrival we felt that the host was abrupt, however the rooms were spacious with sea views. The description on the website said there would be tea making facilities, room service & free bottled water. But there were no facilities in our room or room service, no bottled water & the local tap water is salty. When we arrived we found a kettle with tea & coffee making facility in the hallway, but this was taken away on the second day of arrival, & were never seen again. The breakfast cost €7pp per-day; they had a good selection of fruit, breads, meats, cheese, cakes which changed daily. There’s a couple of small beaches nearby, we liked the beach next to a park & sun lounger bar, walking distance. We met a lovely danish couple where we stayed & noticed how warm & inviting the host was with them, but that warmth was not transferred to us. The host was very good in helping us book a taxi & ensuring that we go & visit certain areas. We found the Ortigia film festival was held that weekend & we appreciate the suggestions. We took the hop-on-off bus located just outside the car park & visited the Archaeological Park Neapolis which has great views, the most impressive part was the Ear of Dionysius. We would visit Syracuse again, but I would probably look for an apartment in the same area as it was safe & friendly. This B&B is good if you are looking to dine out
