Ritz- Carlton Tysons Corner/ Supar
Ritz Carlton's are known to be a high-end hotel offering all sorts of amenities and service. This is what you pay for. However, this particular Ritz is subpar. The check in process for us was a little chaotic because we booked through a 3rd party and they had the names mixed up. The complimentary beverages were constantly empty and were when we checked in. We were not told that there was a complimentary nightly wine/champagne for guests either. We found this out on our last night. We were initially put in a handicap room and had to be switched. We were switched to a room next to a stairwell, ice machine, and a supply room. So, you can imagine the noise and traffic. Specifically in the evening. We didn't get turn down service the 1st night and we inquired about it because our friends got it but we didn't. We didn't see a coffee machine in our room because our friend's machine was on their countertop, so we purchased coffee and tea the 1st morning. Found out it is hidden in the cabinet and when we tried to use it, it didn't work. The front desk told us they would bring a small fridge to our room, but that never happened. Ritz offers guest robes/slippers, but our room was missing slippers. The room phones did not work (neither of them). So, when we ordered room service or had to get something we had to call from our cell phone and then be transferred. The list goes on and on. It's all the little things you pay for and expect from a Ritz. The staff was exceptional not the stay.
