We stayed at Zen Hotel Torremolinos for 5 days. While 75% of the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean with daily towel changes, there were several issues that affected our stay negatively.
For 2 days, there were power outages for hours during the daytime, leaving us without AC in the summer heat. Our minibar food was spoiled. When I politely asked about the situation, the receptionist replied, “It’s not our problem; we contacted the electricity provider,” showing no empathy or apology.
The Wi-Fi barely worked, disconnecting constantly. The power outlet near the bed was broken, and the room was much smaller than shown online, with no side or coffee table. We got a kettle upon request, but no cups or tea. Bedsheets were not changed at all during the stay.
The walls are thin, so we could hear neighbors using the bathroom, and the bathroom vent was extremely loud, like a train.
The pool is nice, but closes at 8 PM — too early for summer evenings, and even the seating area around it is closed at that time.
Overall, the hotel has potential, but needs serious improvements in service, communication, and basic amenities to meet guest expectations.
