I had stayed in this building before in another unit, so I knew that it is decent. There is a pool, laundry, and a private courtyard with security to enter. Furthermore it is in a fantastic neighbourhood that is both fun and safe—albeit quite noisy! I wanted to give a higher star review but the apartment itself was not adequate. The bathroom in particular was in poor shape, with peeling paint and mold in the shower, a loose toilet seat that was nearly falling off, no bidet (a common Brazilian amenity I’ve come to appreciate), and a toilet paper holder so flimsy it fell over every time I walked past it.
As far as the rest of the rental went, not really any complaints. The kitchen had a water filter saving us money on bottled water, the couch and bed were comfortable, and the sunroom/dining area was very nice.
The only other issue I had was the security guards required me to explain who I was and what unit I was in, over and over. Fortunately I speak Portuguese. This would have been difficult for someone who doesn’t.
