We recently stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Atlantic City for a one-night trip (around $350), and my experience was a mixed bag. Starting with the positives, the front desk staff was fantastic, friendly, efficient, and welcoming, which set a great tone upon arrival.
However, there were some notable downsides. The biggest issue in the room was with the hot water in the shower. It simply wasn’t working properly, forcing us to rely on the separate handheld to get any hot water. We didn’t bother complaining since it was just a one-night stay and we had a workaround, but it was still inconvenient. Another annoyance was the room temperature control, we couldn’t adjust it below 68°F, so it got uncomfortably warm at night, making it tough to sleep well.
The real frustration, though, came with the elevators and parking. The elevators were painfully slow, to the point where we opted to take the stairs most of the time, which wasn’t a huge deal but still not ideal. The only road to get into the parking lot was blocked by a service truck picking up linens for the Wydham next door.
Overall, the hotel was fine for a quick visit, especially with the great front desk service, but the hot water issue, temperature control, and sluggish elevators left me less than impressed. It’s workable for a short stay if you’re not too picky, but I’d think twice for a longer trip.
