Hotel was clean but no hot water
I'm giving this hotel a poor rating mainly because we did not have hot water when we stayed. We didn't realize this until early the next morning when we wanted to shower. The hotel staff could not get the issue fixed before it was time for us to check out. This was not their fault.
I spoke with the staff about getting a partial refund for our inconvenience. They stated they would not give me a partial refund for the inconvenience because I booked through Hotels.com. They said they would give me Marriott points to be used later. However, the points they gave me was the equivalent of about $2.50. The hotel manager emailed me apologizing for the inconvenience, and I explained that giving me $2.50 was an insult, not compensation for the inconvenience. And, that I would like to be compensated fairly. The manager did not respond after that.
The hotel itself was clean and in a nice area. The breakfast they offered was okay, not exciting. Overall, I would not have had any real complaints about the hotel, if we had hot water and been able to shower. Or, if the manager or staff had even attempted to compensate me fairly for the inconvenience. This is a Marriott run hotel and they should do a better job of taking care of their customers, even those that book through Hotels.com and not directly through Marriott. Basically, I paid over $165 for a room where I could not shower.
