I based my rating solely on the condition and overall experience of the room. There were no face towels provided, and when we asked the front desk, we were told the hotel is under new ownership and preparing for remodeling, so none were available. The microwave also did not work—the start button wouldn’t function—and we were unable to use any of the apps on the TV due to ongoing WiFi issues.
At breakfast, the front desk receptionist appeared extremely overworked. She was managing the front desk, restocking the breakfast area, and assisting guests all at once, which made the experience feel understaffed and unorganized. For a hotel in a high-traffic tourist area, especially one serving guests traveling to the cruise port, this is unacceptable.
Additionally, the parking fees were disappointing. The room was already overpriced, and having to pay such a high amount just to park while cruising felt unreasonable. If lower-budget hotels can offer better rates and functioning amenities, a brand of this caliber should certainly be able to do better.
