Probably won't go back
The potential was there for a great stay. The room itself was what we expected. However, the room had a strong fishy odor and the resort was unwilling to move us to another room (they said they couldn't due to occupancy). We ended up buying air fresheners to mask the odor. The resort did eventually provide us dining vouchers which we used for a very nice meal we wouldn't have paid for on our own.
How we wish it had been handled: We wish the resort had promptly moved us to another room. Or, if they truly couldn't change our room, that they had provided the air fresheners in addition to the dining voucher.
One additional note on the service: We used the text contact for some of our correspondence with the resort, and felt like sometimes it was probably AI, and sometimes it was an actual person. After the first night in the smelly room, we called a phone number provided by the text contact and got no response for several hours. Only after we responded to the text contact with a rating of 5 out of 10 did we actually get some adequate response to our complaint.
