Motel refused to provide receipt.
Stay away from this shady place. This establishment is occupied by illegal immigrants, and an entire family lives in the front office. I made reservations through hotels.com for a one-night stay. I already received my receipt from hotels.com, but that’s not the issue. The front desk requested a $100.00 incidental deposit, which I completely understood and agreed to. I gave the front desk $100.00 in cash for the deposit and requested a receipt for my cash deposit for my records and assurance for when I check out. The front desk refused to give me a receipt for the cash deposit and was very adamant about not providing one. They claimed that they couldn’t give me a receipt for the cash deposit due to tax reasons. Not only is this incorrect and illegal, but it was also the most absurd excuse I have heard this year. I travel a lot, and I have never encountered a hotel or motel where the front desk refuses to provide a receipt if you are paying them directly. Not only is it ridiculous, but it’s also against the law. I asked for my cash deposit back and immediately reported them to hotels.com before leaving. I’m reporting these illegal immigrants to “ICE” first thing Monday morning and filing a civil suit against this shady hotel. I bet many unfortunate guests have never received their deposits back.
