Would've loved to have given a better review however, the venue was extremely basic. Service was friendly, and we were given a free upgrade to a ground floor ensuite as I was travelling with my 80 yr old father to see a show, and his mobility and eyesight is quiet poor. So that was really lovely of the lady on reception. However, we arrived from Birmingham at the venue at 2:40pm and we were told to come back in an hour as our room wasn't ready, so we weren't able to wait 20 mins to check on. Instead, we left our bags and walked over the road to grab a cuppa and came back and hour later. We were given a room at the annexe which is approx 3 buildings walk away?! Very weird set up. Got into the room, and even though it was spacious and clean, the room itself is on desperate need of a make over. Our front door looked like it had lunch holes in it, the wardrobe door was broken, furniture was lacking in comfort and looked like it had been donated for free to the venue as someone was throwing it out. The bathroom was cramped, and when sat on the loo, your knees hit the sink?! So as much as I appreciated the fact the staff had upgraded us, it still didn't feel very accessible to my elderly father. Also, our neighbours were loud and disrespectful of other guests in the hotel. Priced well and fairly for it's location, and based on it's appearance.
