This was a last minute stay due to proximity to the local hospital. The venue looks to have been recently done up. I got the impression they stay nah be doing some work on the upper level. The facilities were nice and the bed was comfortable. However, the walls between rooms are paper thin and you can hear every word in the next room, and if they have their TV on, good luck getting to sleep. The staff seemed a little ‘absent’. For example, after finishing our main course we sat for a while to await our server coming back to the table, maybe 20 minutes passed and we were asked if we would like to see the dessert menu (we did) and a moment later we were told the kitchen was closed which was disappointing given we had sat and waited and we’re not made aware of any cut off time. On check out, there were two members of staff at the desk, one on a call and another appearing to be free. We stood at the desk and there was no indication we were going to be attended to or acknowledgment so we just put the room key in the ‘quick check out’ box and left. Good refurb but needs some additional work in other areas.
