The positives first: We were there for our anniversary, and they placed flower petals in a heart on the bed and left us a bottle of Elderflower Lemonade with a lovely card. Every room has a balcony with good chairs that face the ocean. The robes in the room were plush, cozy and warm. The fireplace makes it very romantic. Beds are very comfortable!
Now for the not-so-positives: while the bed are comfy, they are SO HIGH off the ground that me and my 6'2" husband had trouble getting up on them! In our room, the carpet was treadbare near the bathroom, and the tack strip was exposed. It wasn't pleasant when I stepped on it! Also, the lower rail on the balcony plexiglass was rusted out, and the glass dropped down which made it dangerous for my grandchildren to be on the balcony. And just one personal peeve: the toilet paper is this and rough. My wife did bring the safely issues to their attention, and they were very receptive.
We have stayed here many times, and this was our least favorite stay.
The hotel recently sold, so we are hopeful for a return to their prior greatness!
