This property is a little bit above the median price for the area, but i'd say that the value you get may be appreciated if you pay a few bucks extra.
The layout of the room is well planned. i got a suite which was divided in the middle by an island. Even though there was really just one big room+bathroom, you could feel 5 distinct zones:
1: kitchen/dining
2: living room:
3: office
4: bedroom
5: washroom/bathroom
The use of space was so clever, even though it was a rectilinear design, the space was functionally toriodal (donut-shaped). So, the result was that all of the space in the room felt well-used and functionally liveable.
Also it was very easy to "switch modes" from cooking, watching teevee, working, or resting.
there were 2 teevees, one "living room" and one "bedroom" (which i didin't use). I don't normally watch much, but i love to catch up while travelling, but i will easily become overwhelmed by a teevee facing the bed. this room let me choose my viewing arrangement.
The included breakfast was really good (i'm not a breakfast person either).
Also it is stumbling distance to Trader Joes, and adjacent to the amazing and beautiful Santa Monica Mountains of Malibu!
only 2 things were questionable:
1. The internet was AWFUL. 1/2 megabyte per second wifi or 35 megaBITS ethernet. truly terrible
2. the air conditioning and the thermostat were too far away, so the only real settings were too hot (it's a 95 degree heat wave) or too cold... :P
