I stayed two nights for a conference at a local college. The price was reasonable and the room was clean and basic. If you plan just to stay at the hotel to sleep, it was good. Staff were nice and present 24 hours. Furniture was very basic, air conditioning was good. Some people reported that there was no hot water. I stayed on the third floor and had hot water but had to let it run for about five minutes. Shower was rather low-flow. Breakfast is served in a room off the lobby. Breakfast is continental with croissants, cereal, fruit, juice, and coffee. The hotel is located in an area that would be called “developing”. There is some new shops (ice cream, bakery, pizza place) and an outdoor market a few blocks straight out the front door and to the left. Many places in the market close by 5pm. Being a non-Spanish speaker, I kind of stood out and felt self-conscious. I would not call the area unsafe, but there were some people who looked homeless in the square across from the hotel. There is a train station literally next door to the hotel but it is pretty quiet (subway?). There’s a Catholic Church across the street, and a police station a block or two from the hotel to the right past the church. Within walking distance: chain coffee shop (I forget the name, but not Starbucks) make a left out the door and a block or two down the street.
