Our stay at the Alander was mixed. It was easy to find the location. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant.Upon arrival to our room, everything seemed in order and attractive. However, there were significant faults: the bed was the most uncomfortable one we've experienced in a long time. Shame that this has not been addressed--the mattress in room 12 is shot. Also, nowhere to sit except the mushy bed. A chair or two in the room or outside would be an improvement. The room fridge is loud, and all the extra snacks/drinks are not really necessary, though we did appreciate the complementary coffee and yogurt/granola. In the bathroom, the toilet ran all night long, the sink faucet is bizarre/awkward and the fancy lightup mirror did not work. There is a huge gap under the room's door, so smells and dirt blow in -- that should be an easy fix. I understand this place is a work in progress, so hopefully the owners will address these deficiencies promptly for the comfort of future guests.
