Immediately after getting to my room at the Hilton Hotel in Kennesaw, Ga, my fiance' & I noticed a moldy, musty-like wet,dirty carpet type of smell that just wouldn't go away. The room was clean but that smell was horrible and I looked at him only to see disappointment all over his face. I immediately went back to the front desk and requested another room. Upon entering that room, we were faced with the same damp, dirty smell. We thought we might be able to just push thru but after about 5 minutes, my throat began to feel itchy and he said whatever was in the air or blowing thru thee vents, he could taste in his tongue and his throat was becoming irritated. We knew we needed to leave before we became sick. We immediately went to complain, asking the front desk employee to come smell the room for herself. She refused and didn't send anyone to check. I requested a refund. She stated she didn't have the authority to process it and that it would have to be done thru her manager, who wasn't there at the time. We left, checked into another hotel, where I then called Expedia to complain. They took my complaint, put me on hold while they called the Hilton and the young lady (Madison) confirmed my story. They apologized to me, gave me a case # (after I had to ask for it) then said they would be back in touch with me once they heard from the manager. I later get an email saying I wouldn't be getting a refund. What about our health, inhaling those fumes. 😡😡😡 Heated!!!
