I reserved 6 rooms for my team to attend a 2-day event in Union, SC. Once the team arrived, we realized 2 of our contractors were not able to attend and we no longer needed the additional room. I reached out to the property first with my concern. She advised me to contact Expedia. I reached out to Expedia and the representative understood my concerns and stated he would contact the property and request the cancellation. He returned to the call to share with me that the representative on duty refused to refund the room. There was awesome another issue with changing the check in date for 1 of the rooms. I wasn’t requesting a refund, I only wanted to check in a day early. The same receptionist refused to change the date, and if I canceled I would be charged $155 in addition to the $155 that was already paid. Because the entire team was there and we had to attend the event, I had to purchase an additional night in order for my contractor to check in 1 day early.
My husband and I always stay with Hampton when we’re out of town, but after this experience, I will no longer use Hampton Inn for personal or business trips again.
