All front desk staff members have been cheerful, pleasant and extremely helpful (thank you, Katya, and others whose names we can’t remember) who called for dinner reservations, found rental car, provided first aid for minor scratches, etc. The hotel is right on the beach. The dining room is lovely, overlooking the water. The breakfast (included) offerings are sumptuous. I’d recommend this hotel to others.
Having sung all the praises, there are a few minor blemishes that render it 4 stars instead of 5. Upon checking, we promptly found the mini refrigerator was leaking water and the safe box was not working. The handsome maintenance man Guillaume quickly came to replace both. Our bathroom wash sinks (both) were clogged late one night. It was after 10pm after we came back from dinner. I wasn’t able to properly brush my teeth that night. These things happen, but one wouldn’t expect at a hotel at $1400/night. Also, the electric hot water pot and coffee pot were placed in the bamboo armoire where there is no electric outlets. There is no place in room where one can properly place them to use them other than putting on the floor (how we used the first time). We wound up “hacking” the room by moving a long wooden bench hidden under the bathroom sinks to put it against the wall under the TV (on the wall). There is room in that space for the hotel to put a long dresser (or credenza) to make it functional. A ceiling fan would be nice (sea breeze cools the room at night).
