The Good: easy check-in/out, friendly and helpful staff. King room was very clean, and spacious for a single traveler. Wi-Fi worked fine, bed was comfortable, though the pillows didn't offer much support.
Areas for Improvement: there was no safe in the room. This is pretty standard at even budget hotels. There was also no functional deadbolt on the door. The door had a bolt, but it was covered, rendering it non functional. The door instead was limited to a security latch (the kind that have basically replaced chain latches), and one side of the door could be bolted into the door frame. Maybe that's enough, but particularly with doors that face directly outside, the lack of a deadbolt was curious. I should note though, that by facing "outside," I mean into a courtyard/alley which requires key access - your room door is not directly open to the street.
Water pressure in the shower was pretty poor. Washing and rinsing hair really took some extra time because of this. The sink was clogged with a very slow drain.
Generally the room was quiet but less so on weekends, given the proximity to Frenchmen. Some noise spills over from there into the wee hours, as well as loud folks walking the streets after a night of partying. My room was also an adjoining room. Though my neighbors weren't unusually loud, a good bit of noise through the shared door.
I would stay here again, but it would not be one of my first choices. But in cases where the price is unbeatable, maybe.
