I was very unhappy with our stay. To start, we got an email a day or 2 after booking that the pool was out “Through September 2024”. It was too late for us to cancel as the marathon was that weekend and hotels were booked out. We stayed from October 11-14, so I expected the pool to be fixed. It wasn’t, but no biggie. Upon arrival, we found that our room was very nasty. The floors were gross and it didn’t look like it had been vacuumed. We have 2 young kids and we wouldn’t let them walk on the floors without shoes. There were sticky spots on the countertops. Again, we tried to overlook it and make the best of it. At breakfast the next morning, I went to fill up my son’s juice cup, only for ants to fall in the cup from where the juice dispenser was covered in ants. We spent the whole day in Chicago and came back around 8:30, only to find that out toilet wouldn’t flush (and it wasn’t due to usage, we had been out all day). We called the front desk and the guy just said “sorry, maintenance isn’t here. It can’t be fixed right now. But you can use the bathroom in the lobby”. Again, we have 2 small children and we were on the 3rd floor. So we had to take the elevator down every time they needed to go. The next morning, I went down to the lobby to use the bathroom and was accosted by an “employee” for using the “employee bathroom” that they told us to use. And then she argued with me when I told her the other guy told us to use it. Rude staff. Nasty hotel. Not staying here again.
