Wasn't sure what to expect based on some of the reviews online. It seems like the hotel is undergoing renovation - I think we must have had one of the unrenovated rooms based on the condition. The hallways were looking pretty worn, and on the inside of the room, the bathroom, floors and fixtures were looking their age. The overall comfort of the room was fine - we had two double beds with two pillows apiece (I think 4 is standard?). The sheets had small mystery stains on them, and they were a bit stingy with towels unless requested. The light switches were confusing at first until you figure out that there's a master switch.
A note on the noise complaints - we were there for 4 nights and the first two nights were pretty quiet. The last two nights the club was thumping until 3am. Bring earplugs if you're staying over a weekend or request a high floor room. Also, there's a speakeasy bar under the hotel that is quite popular. Not noisy but there are some long lines to get in (make a reservation, the hotel can't help you get in).
Overall it was fine for what we paid (as opposed to the high end hotels I've stayed in for work in Polanco, where all of these complaints would have been infuriating instead of shrug-worthy).
