I ordered this hotel in a hurry because we lost power due to hurricane Helene. It went off 10am Friday and was not expected until 11pm Sunday night. My mom is a double amputee, diabetic, uses oxygen and when we got to the hotel and she’s being unloaded from the only handicapped vehicle I could find in the city, I’m being told that they don’t rent to locals. Nowhere on the Hotels.com, their website or anywhere that it said they don’t rent to locals. The clerk at the front desk said she’d call her GM, but it was past his bedtime and didn’t answer. I managed to get another hotel, but I wouldn’t have wasted my time if yall don’t rent to locals. What’s going to happen when a major emergency or disaster happens? We going to let people suffer while there’s all those empty rooms that people were looking to “rent” for a couple days for health and safety reasons. I will be taking this further. Unacceptable and despicable behavior knowing what the city had been thru the past few days with the wind and rain and flooding. Horrible way to treat people.
