I arrived at the hotel around 10 PM after driving for four hours. I had come into town to celebrate my birthday and was extremely tired, especially since I had just finished a work shift before the drive. Upon arrival, the young lady at the front desk was very polite during check-in. However, a group of girls came off the elevator being very loud and running through the lobby, which made me hope they weren’t assigned to the same floor, as I needed rest.
After receiving the key to Room 424, my wife and I began bringing our things into the room. While she brought in our belongings, I inspected the room, starting with the bathroom. I was immediately disappointed. The bathroom floor was dirty with hair scattered everywhere, the shower was unclean, and the toilet seat and base were visibly dirty. The main room’s floor was also noticeably unclean.
I returned to the front desk and requested another room. I was given Room 514, but unfortunately, this room was just as dirty. The bathroom had large clumps of hair all over the floor and in the shower, as if someone had combed their hair and left it there. Frustrated and exhausted, I returned to the front desk again. A different front desk agent this time offered another room — a suite — assuring me that it should be clean.
