I recently stayed at the Ramada in Sioux Falls, and I can confidently say it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was hit with a stale, musty smell that lingered throughout the entire building. The hotel feels old, worn down, and in desperate need of a deep clean and serious renovations.
The carpets were stained, the walls were scuffed, and everything just had a grimy, unkept feel to it. Our room was no better. The bathroom was dirty, with mold and mildew in the shower corners. The towels were thin and rough, and I wasn’t entirely sure they were clean. The bedsheets didn’t feel fresh, and the pillows were flat and uncomfortable.
The one “highlight” of this place is supposed to be the water slide, but even that was underwhelming. The pool area felt just as dingy as the rest of the hotel, and I couldn’t help but question the cleanliness of the water. There was visible grime on the pool tiles, and the overall vibe was anything but inviting. If you’re thinking of booking this place for the water slide, save your money — it’s not worth it.
Staff interaction was minimal, and when I did ask for assistance, I was met with indifference. I understand that hospitality jobs can be stressful, but basic courtesy shouldn’t be too much to expect.
