Could do better!
It is a beautiful hotel, set in beautiful grounds on the canal. The reception checking in couldn’t have been more helpful. I ate in the bar the evening of my stay. I enjoyed my meal and the service was friendly and timely.
My to negative comments were:
1. My room didn’t feel as luxurious as I had hoped and my bathroom was designed for a wheelchair user, it had a low basin and felt more like a hospital shower room.
2. Breakfast. I was leaving early Sunday morning and had called the hotel to enquire about breakfast. I was told there was no breakfast for me. I then sent a message and was told that a continental breakfast would be available. I thought I’d be going to the restaurant to have this breakfast with coffee and tea etc. instead I was provided with a takeaway breakfast bag, which consisted of orange juice, a big no no for a diabetic, but of course no dietary requirements were considered. An apple, banana, a yoghurt and a warm croissant. This croissant was a nice touch, but no butter or jam, just a dry croissant! I did get some jam eventually, but the whole breakfast thing was really disappointing.
