Love this place! I stayed with my partner for Fri. & Sat. in July last minute and they had vacancy. 1 small double bed room. We were on the beach the whole time, so only needed a place to sleep. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the beach (we had a cart.) The owners were incredibly accommodating and nice. They've run the motel for 30 years and clearly with a lot of love and care. There are real - not plastic - plants and flowers everywhere. They just put in a new covered wooden awning with picnic tables this year so you could eat or relax in the shade. For the free continental breakfast you order it at the window like a little cafe and they make it for you right there (coffee, hardboiled eggs, fruit, bagels). The wonderful owner Bob is there onsite always to make himself available to you for whatever you might need. The vibe is quiet and chill, but they have also cultivated a community vibe. I've never really chatted with any motel neighbors before, but I did at the Suitcase. I'm an introvert so just a little, but it was nice. There are beautiful shrubs, tables and chairs outside of each room that are enjoyable to just sit. There is also a perfectly organized lounge area with flowers, plants, and shelter and a library. Like I said this is a throwback motel with a lot of history and character so if you prefer an old-school experience rather than a cutout big box plastic palm tree place, I would recommend. I am definitely returning.
