The hotel is in a great location, it is spic and span clean, the attached restaurant is AMAZINGLY TASTY!!! The staff was pleasant.
That said, I would not go back, nor can I recommend it. Upon check in we were informed that we (two people, one of whom is 6'4" or 1.93 meters tall) had requested a twin bed, but they were going to give us a king bed. Now, I have an email confirming my selection of a king bed. I was charged for a king bed.
What we got was a bed that measured (yes we double checked) 135cm x 190cm (roughly 4.5' x 6'). THAT is a European DOUBLE bed, NOT a king sized bed. When we commented on it we were told, correctly, that European bed sizes are smaller than USA's. Yes, we said, we know, but this bed did not meet the measurements of a European king- we checked those specifications before we booked the room. Our staff member, a lovely woman named Maty, told us with a straight face that this was THEIR definition of a king size. They had another king, an elite king, and that one was bigger.
Look, the primary reason for a hotel is a safe, clean place to sleep. My boyfriend couldn't sleep. He was longer than the bed. If we need to pay for and book a bigger bed- no problem, but we need to know what we are getting. Don't tell me that I am getting a king, then slip me a double. And WHY would you say I requested a twin???
