An absolute disastrous level of service from NH and Hotels.com.
Booked via the Hotels.com app.
Shuffling through hotel offers, the app changed the set dates, which I only first noticed when receiving the confirmation email. At this point we had 200km left of a 1000km drive and would arrive around 20.00.
Calling 1 min after the booking.
First I talk to the NH hotline, which says they cannot help me change for the current date - they refer to hotels.com.
Calling hotels.com and spending 30 mins on the line and being told to wait, they tell me (I doubt its true) that they spoke to the hotel and that only the hotel can change the booking.
Calling back to NH, I am told that if I go to the hotel, they will be able to help and change the booking.
After driving the 150km to the hotel, we arrive and they will not help (even though they have vacant rooms). At first I thought they were helping, but they apparently just made a new booking. Even standing at the counter, it cost around 15 euro to cancel the new booking, she just put in the screen.....
The hotel has no management at this hour of the day, but cant make decisions without..
There is a minor difference in price on the 2 dates, which I obviously are willing to pay.
I have never experienced this lack of service in a hotel. The fact that they their hotline tells us to go there, and then are not willing to help is infuriating.
I will never set my foot in a NH hotel again.
