Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and well-kept — and to our pleasant surprise, housekeeping tidied up, made our bed, and refreshed the bottled water on day 3/4. The jacuzzi was a nice touch.
However, there are a few things we think are worth noting, and for future travelers to keep in mind. On the day of arrival, you’ll receive a text via WhatsApp from the host, including a link to complete payment. When we received this text from a random number, we assumed it was spam (since we thought we had paid via Expedia), so we ignored it initially. However, this step is required in order to receive the door codes. As foreign travelers, we were surprised that we had to pay via a suspicious link, and that we weren’t notified of this until we were on our way to the hotel from the airport. There is no staff present so this is the only way to access the rooms.
The hotel is located in a second and third-story townhome, directly above a restaurant/bar. The plus side is their food is delicious; however, on Friday night, they stayed open until at least 1am, with loud music playing and cigarette smoke lingering in our room. If you request a room on the other side of the hotel, these things may not be as bad.
There are no lifts/elevators, so be prepared to carry your luggage up 1-2 flights of stairs.
Finally, the WiFi did not work. We connected to the restaurant’s WiFi instead, which was far more stable, but this was disappointing considering the price point.
