I can wholeheartedly recommend this gem of a hotel – though there’s certainly room for improvement in a few areas.
What’s great:
The location and design are absolutely breathtaking. You stay in beautiful and exotic stilted villas nestled among the mangroves, giving a truly immersive and atmospheric experience. The restaurants are equally stunning, built in an authentic traditional style that evokes both rural Thai charm and deep jungle vibes.
We stayed in a two-bedroom family villa, which is essentially two separate units connected by a passage. When the connecting door is open, the space feels unified and open, yet you still enjoy the luxury of having double amenities. The rooms were of high standard, with lovely bathrooms and large, comfortable beds. Note that the doors and windows are built in a traditional style, so they’re not completely mosquito-proof – but we didn’t find this to be a problem.
Evenings on the veranda, listening to the sounds of the jungle and watching the canals between the villas, were simply magical.
The food at the resort’s restaurants was good, and the staff were kind and welcoming. That said, food and drinks sometimes took a while to arrive, and dishes were not always served simultaneously for everyone at the table. Still, the overall dining experiences were very positive, and we are especially grateful to Sling, who gave us outstanding service and quickly became a favorite with our kids.
