I stayed here for one night in August in a single room. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel itself is in a great location in the town centre. However, the hotel was very run down and not particularly clean.
My room was located in the main building, right next to the gents' toilets of the pub, which is already not a pleasant start. The room was very small and very dated - with thick old carpet on the floor which is inherently unhygienic, and very cramped bathroom (so small that the fresh towels were placed on top of the toilet). The room was on a main corridor with very creaky floorboards, meaning there was constant noise in the evening and early morning from people walking through the corridor.
Breakfast was included in my booking, however I would have opted out of this given the chance - the food quality and service was below average for the price of the room.
Overall, very run down hotel in dire need of a refurb, and very questionable from a hygiene point of view (I also observed in the bar area one of the bar staff stroking a dog and then continuing with their duties without washing their hands). Regrettably, it's highly unlikely I will stay here again.
