We were pretty displeased with our stay here for numerous reasons. One, the breakfast price was listed incorrectly. We specifically booked for breakfast due to having a tight travel schedule and ended up having to pay twice as much as was listed, which I'm in the midst of disputing with my credit card company, as I think the hotel should've honored the price that was listed. It wouldn't have cost much for this service recovery, and they failed - I also have high Bonvoy status, so I was additionally disappointed they went to no trouble to make anything better.
Worse than that, was our AC was broken. Batumi is disgustingly hot and humid. We asked them to resolve this when we left for dinner, only to come back and find nothing done, and nothing communicated to us. They are great at sending canned e-mails apologizing for inconvenience, but when push came to shove they did nothing to help us or improve our stay.
This property also just has a generally haughty staff. They are used to seeing people show up in Maseratis: pro tip, not all wealthy people waste their money on flaunting. We both travel extensively for work and expect to be treated at least neutrally when we show up at hotels, we did not feel particularly welcome or cared for. I stay at a Meridien property in the US regularly, and will continue to do so, but this property really needs some help in their customer service.
