As many reviews have noted, the hotel shuttle service to & from the airport is excellent. We arrived late (around 11 PM) & easily caught the shuttle to the hotel. After staying overnight, we took the shuttle back to the airport the next morning, & then took the Canada Line SkyTrain to reach the port for our cruise. This hotel was perfect for our needs. It was much more cost-effective than other hotels closer to the port, yet still allowed for easy & affordable access - 30 minutes to the port, costing $20 for 2.
One thing to note is that while the hotel appears fairly modern at first glance, a closer look reveals its 1990s setup. For instance, there were virtually no plug-ins available for our two cell phones and a laptop. We had to unplug the outdated drip-filter, single-cup coffee maker (definitely NOT a Keurig) just to charge the laptop. The air conditioning unit was somewhat obtrusive & loud, so I recommend bringing earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Additionally, there was some water damage in the bathroom ceiling that needed attention.
That said, considering the price and our requirements—a clean, comfortable place to sleep for 8 hours —I was pleased with this find & would likely book here again if I were departing for a cruise in Vancouver. Chop Steakhouse is on the ground floor, but we opted for Denny's, which is a five-minute walk away, accessible both indoors & outdoors. We had a lovely view of the dumpster in the back but again, we weren't there for the view!
