Lovely friendly staff, and comfortable room and bed, although the windows were very drafty, alright in the summer, not so for a winter stay. The shower cubical was very small in our room. We are not the smallest in size, but we could not turn around in the shower, with about an inch between the shower tap and the narrow sliding doors, made for a very interesting showering experience.
The room it self did not have much space between the walls and the bed, but that is because of the building and that cannot be changed, Just do not take to much luggage. There were very few channels on the TV when arrived, we and the owner tried to retune it a couple of times, but by the next day we had no channels at all, and was told it was because it was on a different signal than the 5 or 6 TVs in the bar area showing sports and were told nothing could be done about it. We had no TV for the whole 3 night stay. Not so bad for us, but if you had children needing to be entertained before bed time, it could be annoying. We had a lovely Sunday roast on the day we arrived, that was still available up to 6 in the evening. The breakfast menu had a good selection of cereals and cooked food. There were lots of people eating in the bar area throughout the day and evening, with a lovely atmosphere, very dog friendly. Plenty of spirits behind the bar and wondering around in the night, it is reported to be the second most haunted place in Weymouth.
