Paid for hotel online. Called to ask when check in was and a very rude woman stated it was "anytime after 3pm" only to re-read my receipt and it states check in is actually 2pm and that was stated on the wall information in the hotel. I go to check in at 2:45pm and a very rude front desk woman acted irritated to have to check me in. She proceeds to try to re-run my debit card and tells me it's declined twice although I have a literal copy of payment, proof it was deducted from my bank acct, etc. She proceeds to tell me I cannot stay because my card was declined. I asked what I need to do to rectify it and she says "I don't know, call your bank" An hour later after sitting with my kids in the car, hotel.com finally lets me know they contacted the hotel and it somehow went through and I can get the keys. As I am walking in to check in, a man who had been right outside the door smoking a cigarette for 20 mins watches me walk in and lets me stand at the front desk waiting for at least 5 mins. He finally comes in and says "you call Expedia on ,me?" Then proceeds to give me room keys but is everything but pleasant or professional. I mean, I did apparently interrupt his 30 minute cigarette break I guess. Room was gross, front desk people were awful and I am positive the rude woman I first dealt with told me check in was at 3pm because that was shift change as she wasn't there but replaced with the smoker guy. She just misleadme by an hour so she didn't have to check me in!
