We had stayed here the year prior for the fair and had a really pleasant experience. This tine was a little different. We had attempted to cancel a spare room and while it was non-refundable, the back and forth with the hotel was needlessly aggressive on their end when I asked even if we could do a 50% refund (thankfully, things worked out and we ended up taking the room).
Once in the room, there were a few things we noticed. A greasy hand print on the headboard of my friend’s bed (she found it during a routine bedbug check), the vent cover above the shower was missing, and the sheets had some minor stains. That I can work with because white sheets inevitably show everything. The next morning, when I went to shower, I noticed a hair, red and curly, still stuck to the shower wall (neither of us have red curly hair).
Breakfast was okay, just crowded as the lobby isn’t very large. Personally, this experience left a a bitter taste in our mouths so we’ll be going elsewhere in the future. With that said, I’d recommend this place if you’re on a strict budget and for a quick overnight stay. It is close to downtown with lots of restaurants and is a short drive to the fairgrounds if that’s your main attraction. See photos below
