Although the hotel was "100% smoke-free inside", we were greeted by a cloud of smoke as the desk attendant was smoking right at the entrance. He was friendly enough as we signed the paperwork. The hotel decor was dated, and the carpet was worn and stained. In the room, the bathroom was clean enough, and the beds appeared clean as well. The room smelled musty, and my clothes this morning felt damp. It was obvious that the room carpet had not been vacuumed, as there were crumbs and an old hair tie. As we were getting ready for bed, the fire alarm went off, and we all had to evacuate. Two fire trucks came and all was fine; apparently one of the visitors set off the alarm by flat drying her hair?! During the night there was a lot of noise in the halls, and the room next door had a dog that kept barking. In addition, there was smoke smell during the night, so at least one room on the first floor was not adherring to the no smoking policy. The worst crime of all was that the room cost with taxes was $146.00
