I stayed in a neighboring hotel previously and wrongly assumed all hotels in the area are similar. When I checked in, I was told I didn’t have a reservation and they were fully booked. They were ready to turn me away but I asked them to call a manager. Turns out someone on their staff had previously checked me in, even though I hadn’t spoken with anyone. Our room appeared clean enough, but upon closer inspection, the floor was really dirty and there was a greasy mess left on the nightstand. We called for an extra towel at night and were told housekeeping wasn’t there, so we couldn’t get any delivered. Ok. We went down and asked for one the next morning and were told me couldn’t get a new one until we exchanged an old one. Luckily he still gave us one. We were told they had grab and go breakfast until 9:30. I wasn’t expecting much. We stopped by at 9am and were told it ended at 9. I said I thought it was 9:30? The response was “oh you’re right, it’s 9:30, we have some muffins and snacks on that table”. There were in fact no muffins, just granola bars and some tea bags. Super disappointing, even though my expectations were already low. Overall we weren’t very comfortable but it was safe enough. Luckily the bed had no issues.
