There was construction underway on the front of the hotel that wasn't mentioned anywhere online.
The night clerk at the front desk was wonderful. I didn't catch her name.
Threadbare carpet in the lobby, in our room there were spots on the walls, a broken drawer handle on one of the nightstands (missing screw), some small but obvious holes in the drapery, and someone in a nearby room was definitely smoking cigarettes. Black and green carpet doesn't show dirt, but that makes it feel like it's hiding a lot of dirt. The heat was overbearing - I had to get up twice to turn it down and was still too hot when it was running while set at 68.
Thankfully the bathroom was clean.
There was a motion sensor on the light in the room entrance, which is not a bad idea, but the motion sensor in the bathroom has got to go. I hate being blinded by bright lights in hotel bathrooms in the middle of the night, so I don't turn them on unless absolutely necessary. I don't like that not being an option. Why don't more hotels have an integrated nightlight in the bathroom?
