The hotel is located near a less desirable area of San Francisco downtown, which felt unsafe and unsanitary while getting there. For the price I paid, I should have opted for a hotel a few streets away for a better experience. I didn’t feel comfortable walking around the area to explore. While this isn’t necessarily the hotel’s fault, it would have been helpful if they had recommended alternate routes to reach the hotel safely.
The reception staff did the bare minimum—handed over the keys and that was it. No smiles, no greetings, no warmth. It felt like they were just doing their job for the paycheck.
I requested a non-slip mat for the bathtub three times since the tubs were slippery, and I had elderly guests with me. Each time, I was told it would arrive shortly, but nothing ever came. I hate having to confront people, so eventually, I just gave up.
I also needed a refrigerator for medication. I checked in late and was told I’d get one in the morning. When I called the next day, the receptionist said they don’t provide refrigerators. Again, I didn’t want to push the issue, so I let it go. Oddly enough, when I returned to the room, there was a refrigerator with my medications inside.
The only people who truly went above and beyond was the cleaning staff. The room was kept spotless, serviced daily, and they even moved the medications to a second fridge without me asking. They were the highlight of the stay.
The experience could have been much better. I wouldn’t stay here.
