Losing a regular customer
We have been staying at the Shilo for years now and honestly it’s never been that great but it has always been cheap and somewhat comfortable. This time was not. I sat at the front desk to check in for pretty much 10 minutes without any sign of a person, then went to the restaurant to ask where I could find help. The lady plainly said that she had only worked there for a couple weeks and the last time this happened the manager was yelling at the front desk staff. Very inappropriate thing to say. I then went back to the front desk and yelled for someone. RIGHT AWAY someone came out from behind the wall and said that he had “seen” me there. Not sure why he didn’t see me the 10 minutes prior.
The room we stayed in was 140 which is no where near what I had requested. I specifically had ask for a room facing the river and somewhat away from the highway. Didn’t get either of those things. They are usually always accommodating. This room was the most run down we’ve stayed at here. Also there were maybe 12 cars total parked and stay by and yet they placed us directly underneath someone else. WHY! I do not understand how I can ask for something specific not get any of it honored and then you can’t even place your 12 customers a little farther apart. This hotel is very old and creaky and obviously not the people above us are at fault but I feel this was extremely inconsiderate. Lastly the bed was awful very stiff and comforter had stains on it. Probably won’t stay here again.
