Beautiful old Italian boutique hotel. Great architecture, modern styling with lovely lakeside views from bedrooms and dining area. Very comfortable. 10 mins walk to centre - ferries and restaurants, 20 mins walk to station. Quiet ( although water lapping can be noisy in the wind!) Food was good but not exceptional, breakfast was acceptable but not first class. Staff very pleasant although sometimes hard to find. Helpful and very friendly when available. Bar and reception were not manned all the time, there was a bell. Terrace was small and unmanned if you wanted a drink you had to go into bar and find someone, if you wanted jaccuzzi on you had to find someone ( we had no luck so just sat in hot tub with no bubbles!) No snacks, they concentrated very much on their core services ie. restaurant service at night was good but if you just wanted a drink in the bar you had to wait for a waiter to come out, no olives or crisps, even had to ask for ice and lemon as they were so concentrated on the restaurant. Local restaurants would serve a plethora of mini bites for free with drinks, this hotel needs to up their game for the price charged. It's not all about image, (we ate in restaurant once, it was ok but menu the same as everywhere else and more expensive.) It's about providing exceptional service at all levels, it felt special but wasn't!
