I recently stayed at the Fairmont Hotel to celebrate both my birthday and anniversary, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations.
Upon arrival, we were encouraged to use the valet service, which we were assured would park our vehicles in a covered parking garage. However, we later discovered that both of our cars were left in an open parking lot down the street—something we could have paid a much lower rate for had we known in advance.
The hotel’s elevator situation was also frustrating. With only one functioning elevator, we waited 15–20 minutes each time we needed to go up or down, which was highly inconvenient. The valet retrieval process was equally chaotic, with some guests waiting up to 1.5 hours just to get their keys.
Additionally, the heater in our room was not working properly despite the outside temperature being 30 degrees. While the room itself was decent, it felt very outdated and in need of renovation.
Overall, for a luxury hotel, I expected a much smoother experience. The service inefficiencies, outdated accommodations, and lack of communication regarding parking made our stay less enjoyable than anticipated. I hope management takes steps to improve these issues for future guests.
