We booked this hotel as a treat. It is pricey so expectations were high and, unfortunately, they fell far short.
On arrival, we were told there was no space at the restaurant for dinner, despite receiving an email the day before informing us they would reserve a table for us.
Our “superior” double room was dark, pokey and dirty in places (stain on the headboard, cobwebs). There was one desk chair to sit in, only one small mirror, a half sized (height) wardrobe and no outside space, one of the bath towels had holes in it and the TV bracket was broken. Not really what you expect for €500/night!
The staff were generally despondent; everything seemed too much trouble for them. For example, we requested firmer pillows around 9pm and were told we’d have to wait until tomorrow, I wanted some pancakes at breakfast and was told they needed to be ordered a day in advance.
The worst part of all of this though was that when we provided feedback on 3 separate occasions, absolutely nothing was done. We barely even got an apology. The manager was seemingly non-existent.
We stayed in much better 4 star hotels in Croatia that were significantly better value for money. A massive disappointment all round.
