I’d booked the room 4 weeks in advance. On arrival I was told there was no booking. Showing the Hotels.com booking was no use, they needed an email from themselves confirming the booking. Luckily, I had enquired about breakfast when I booked it, so I had a reply from Copthorne stating it was included. So, after a 20 minute wait (after a 6 hour drive), they found my booking - they had recorded it as the following month!
Unfortunately the room had a double bed, not the twin beds I had requested. But by this time it was too late to get sorted as we were now running late.
Final moan is the car park. It is plenty big enough for hotel guests but when Man Utd have a match on, they let non-guests park, for a fee. It was chaos. I had to park my car on the mini roundabout and move it into a space after the match. While waiting to get the room sorted 2 guests came to reception as they needed to get their car out but had been blocked in - the hotel had no way of knowing whether it was by a guest or a football fan.
On the plus side the reception staff was very good, as was the lady sorting breakfast. Breakfast was very good. Room didn’t have any water bottles but did have a fridge (noisy overnight).
It’s convenient for Old Trafford but really gone downhill, have stayed here a few times over the years and this was the worst experience, it’s a shame
