Shady Business! We booked through hotels.com last year, we received a call a few days before our booking to update our payment information. We had a pay at hotel reservation, so not sure why that was needed. We received this message from the hotel, via hotels.com. When we called the hotel, someone named Nigel said he wasn't sure what we were talking about and that nothing was needed. We had two separate reservations, the first night was a paid reservation, so we checked in. Upon checkin, we explained we had another reservation and the staff was nice enough make sure we could stay in our same room. I figured we were good to go, they said come back in the morning to re-check in and you're set. Get a voicemail an hour later, from the hotels reservation department, that we need to update payment or our stay will be cancelled. So I immediately walk to the front desk and on my way down, my reservation was cancelled. Hotel says that hotels.com did it. Hotels.com explained that it was past the cancellation period so the hotel had to call hotels.com and cancel it. Tried to find the employee who left me a voicemail, Noelle, but she wasn't on property or available? Needless to say, I had to rebook through the hotels website, for $100 more per night, just to make sure I wasn't left on the street. And I was told my regular size truck was too big for the garage/valet, so I had to park .3 miles away and pay $15 more/day. I saw the same truck in garage 3 hours later. SHADY BUSINESS!!
